Just days after being immortalized with her own version of the most famous doll in the world, Sylvie van der Vaart went back to her roots (we swear that’s not a hair joke) and did her best Barbie impersonation on the red carpet.
Mrs. VDV attended the Golden Camera Awards in Berlin on Saturday night in a bubble gum pink Escada gown and ten pounds of hair extensions. We’re torn – we loved her short hair, but we always knew the long, blond mane would be back. We’re certain that we love her turquoise accessories though.
If you had your Wheaties this morning, you may recall that this is the same dress that actress Kerry Washington wore to the Met Gala in May of last year. Both the pink and the blue colors are gorgeous and bang on, as they say, since pastels are massive for Spring.
How do you feel about the return of the original Sylvie?

There’s a lot to talk about here, Kickettes.
First, let us state that we love this. Sylvie is a Versace girl through-and-through and this dress from Donatella’s Fall 2011 collection looks like it was made for her. Furthermore, we’re pleased as punch that she chose a colored heel in the form of Jimmy Choo’s “Blade” sandal. The color combination of navy blue and burgundy always looks rich without being too out there.
Here’s where we’re on the fence – her accessories. The gold cuff and clutch are pretty fab on their own, but something about them looks just a little “off” to us when paired with those heels. Would a gold sandal (oh hey) be more in harmony with all the shine that’s happening with those accessories? Or should she have toned it down with the accessories to keep the focus on the shoes? We just don’t know.
Are we being too picky? Should we go back to eating Kit-Kats and looking at photos of the really tight new Puma kits for the Africa Cup Of Nations?
Either way we think this is the best Sylvie has looked in a long time! What do you think?

Now this is more like it.
Last night Sylvie van der Vaart attended the Goldene Henne broadcasting awards in Berlin, Germany wearing a look from Gucci’s Fall 2011 collection. She paired it with a Gucci clutch, green satin heels, and a long blond ponytail.
We think she looks absolutely gorgeous in this. We love this Gucci collection and we’re so happy to see a WAG in one of the looks! It’s sexy in all the right places and we love her hair extensions, even if they were only for this night.
Our only bone to pick is with the shoes. There was no need for them to be so matchy-matchy. If she was intent on a green heel, Gucci’s runway shoes would have been a much better choice. But carry on, Sylvie! You’re looking fab lately.

You all had some very strong opinions on Sylvie’s last look. To sum up, you thought she looked like a wax work member of the Jersey Shore cast. Way harsh, Kickettes.

Oooh feathers!
While we love Sylvie’s street style and casual wear, we have expressed frustration in the past at her reliance on Elie Saab for black tie looks. Imagine our delight yesterday when her lovely stylist Danie Bles tweeted that Sylvie was wearing a look from avant garde designers Viktor & Rolf.
Sylvie attended the world premiere of Montblanc’s new jewelry collection inspired by Princess Grace of Monaco at the Monte-Carlo Opera last night. She looks trés glam, yes? Her new hair has reached epic heights and we think she’s gone a bit out of her comfort zone. Brava, Sylvie!
How do you feel about her look?

Sylvie van der Vaart is still holding it down on Let’s Dance every week. The hostess with the mostess has been wearing some delightfully over the top outfits. In addition to her sartorial splendor, Sylvie’s got a tight shoe game going on.
Her neon yellow Celine sandals make our hearts flutter. They pair fabulously with her electric blue accessories, but we can do without the be-dazzled DIY-looking leopard dress.
We say, if you’re going to go neon, then go all out. This amazing pink sequined dress from Ashish would be a far better choice.

Sylvie also dazzled a few weeks ago in this JANTANINIAU couture dress. Snaps for Sylvie for wearing a Dutch designer!
Her feet were adorned with the heel of the moment – Charlotte Olympia’s Dolly pump is gracing feet on carpets both red and sidewalk the world over and were previously shown off by the one-and-only Sarah Jessica Parker.
Our favorite detail on Charlotte Olympia’s shoes? The gold spider web detail on the sole of each heel, no doubt derived from the classic childrens book Charlotte’s Web. We heard red was already taken so fair play to Charlotte for creating a unique and sweet signature.
What do you think of Sylvie’s shoes? Are there any “it” pairs you’re craving at the moment?

Sylvie VDV began her hosting duties on Germany’s Let’s Dance last night and she did so with a mini pink bang.
As you’ll recall, Sylvie placed second in last year’s version of the show. She clearly had a profound effect on the shows creators, as she was asked back to host. This means there will be several weeks of fab outfits and new hair styles and for this we are eternally grateful.
Mrs. VDV’s first ensemble consisted of a pink mini dress that clearly took inspiration from the famed Let’s Dance disco ball trophy. We’re loving the 60′s vibe of her whole look. The spray tan is a bit worrying, but that’s the point, isn’t it?
Are there any looks you want to see Sylvie in?

Sylvie van der Vaart continues her reign of awesomeness and looking hot in magazines with a spread in the next issue of Linda.Mode. She tells the Dutch fashion mag that she is less concerned with her weight now that she’s older. She still works out up to four times a week, but if she feels like eating chocolate or cookies she does. That’s our kind of woman.
Sylvie also states that she loves her short hair, but probably never would have cut her hair short if not for her cancer treatments. In other Sylvie news, she will be the new co-host when the fourth season of Germany’s Let’s Dance kicks off on March 23rd. You may recall that Mrs. VDV finished second during the third season of the show. We’re looking forward to see her outfits about as much as we look forward to a rain storm on the pitch when white shorts are involved.
