We accepted long ago that Louise Redknapp’s go-to designer is Stella McCartney and that’s great. Stella makes fabulous clothes. Other designers make fabulous clothes too, but we get that she’s in a groove. We don’t, however, get what she was thinking when she put on this dress.
The dress is from Stella’s Fall 2012 collection and while it’s certainly not the worst dress ever in life, it’s so, so wrong for Louise and her body type. Louis is a petite, curvy woman and this drowns her and makes her look incredibly top heavy. Also, the styling? Girl, no. Those ankle boots make her look about 4’11″ tall and while black and blue is a big trend for fall, it doesn’t make sense here. A silver metallic heel, much like these amaze Nicholas Kirkwood platform slingbacks, would have worked so much better.
Furthermore, could there have been a better occasion for her lovely hair to have been in a top knot or bun to show off her face and the high neckline of the dress? No. See? It could have been salvageable. Maybe. Call us before your next appearance, Louise.
Is there anything that could have saved this look, Kickettes?
What does one wear to celebrate one’s father-in-law being acquitted of tax evasion? Why, a Burberry Prorsum Coat and Celine Croc Luggage Tote of course.
And that’s exactly what Louise Redknapp did. She and her family celebrated at London’s Zuma restaurant last night and Mrs. R brought out some big guns. That coat is gorgeous and we can’t really discuss how amazing Celine bags are without breaking into hives so we’ll leave it at that. (Above images via Style.com and Vogue.com)
Let’s talk about winter coats for a mo.
Oh hey, Jamie. We see you creepin’ back there.
Louise Redknapp has been off the radar lately and we are just tickled that she’s emerged from her hibernation in a garment that is neither black nor Stella McCartney.
Mrs. R. attended a birthday party for English comedian David Walliams wearing this gorgeous red Alexander McQueen dress. The full skirt is a great compliment to her curvy bod and we love the fun cut-outs on the sleeves.
Even her accessories are exciting! The two-tone heels are so much more interesting than her usual black stilettos and the jeweled fan earrings are a perfect compliment to the dress.
So thank you Louise for starting off our week rather fabulously. It was looking grim – we were all set to lock ourselves in the Kickette wine closet with a stack of photos of Joe Hart’s bum. We may actually still do that. Just for fun.
Louise Redknapp. You are the first WAG to receive the dubious distinction of being the subject of multiple Necessary Restyles.
Y’know, we thought Louise had turned over a colorful new leaf when she wore this gorgeous Louis Vuitton look to a charity event last month, but it was not to be. Seen sauntering down the Television BAFTA Awards red carpet last night, Louise wore a nice, but dreadfully boring…. wait for it…. Stella McCartney jumpsuit. On the plus side, we think Louise’s make-up is lovely and we covet here green earrings. Sadly, they’re not enough to save this outfit from being about as interesting as the legal mumbo-jumbo in a super injunction law.
We nearly fell off our beanbag chairs this morning when we saw pics of Louise Redknapp at a Japanese Tsunami fundraiser at London’s Nobu last night.
Our shock over her fab outfit was down to, A) It not being black; and B) It not being Stella McCartney. Baby steps, Kickettes. Louise looked as good as ever in a top and skirt from the Spring 2011 Louis Vuitton collection.
We have virtually pleaded with Mrs. Jamie Redknapp to step outside of her black/McCartney comfort zone on more than one occasion. She has taken a giant leap from said comfort zone with this look and we are thrilled. We even like the simple black clutch and heels she chose. Over-the-top accessories would have only overshadowed this bright, fun look.
Not that we need an excuse, but we may break into HQ’s stash of champers early today to celebrate Louise’s triumph. Bottoms up!
Louise Redknapp attended
the launch of Nintendo 3DS in London last night. We think that has something to do with video games, but clearly we’re just concerned with the clothes here.
There’s nothing particularly offensive about La Redknapp’s duds here. We’re just bored to death by them. We can’t remember the last time we were wowed by Louise’s red carpet selections. Her reliance on Stella McCartney (whom she wore again last night) has been noted. We loved the colorful Erdem mini she wore to the Pride of Britain Awards back in November, but since then it’s been all snoozeville. READ MORE

Louise Redknapp sat front row at the Amanda Wakeley show yesterday as London Fashion Week came to a close. Louise also attended the Aquascutum show which heavily featured their signature outerwear. Mrs. R. has never met a blazer she didn’t like so we would delight in seeing her in this beautiful Aquascutum structured leather number. (Image via Style.com)
It was a relatively WAG-less week with just Louise and Danielle Lloyd spotted at the shows. Couldn’t get invites? Uninterested? Content to wear what the shop girls at Cricket tell them to? All of the above? As fashion designers* themselves, we at least expected to see Alex Gerrard or Coleen Rooney attend some of the shows to look for things to copy be inspired by trends and whatnot. Ah well; there’s always next season.
We were really very impressed with several of the shows in London and will be featuring a few more looks and collections before we dive into Milan!
*We use that term in the loosest way possible.
