Abbey Crouch did her best fembot impersonation on the Brit Awards red carpet last night.
She donned an adorable 1960s vintage pink tweed dress via William Vintage and a simple pair of Christian Louboutin Pigalle heels. Even though she’s still showing more leg than a bucket of chicken, we think this is a big departure from her usual style.
Her hair and make-up were smartly kept in a 1960s style with a heavy-lidded eye, light pink lips and loose curls.
There’s no Herve Leger in sight and for that we’re thankful. What do you think of this look on Abbey?
Abbey must have heard us complaining about her reliance on black dresses loud and clear because the woman wowed us with some color last night.
Mrs. Peter Crouch wore this gorgeous Fall 2011 Emilio Pucci dress to the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards. She topped (bottomed? that’s not right) off her look with a pair of Christian Louboutin heels. We absolutely loved this collection from Pucci and we’re delighted to see a WAG in it.
Abbey smartly pulled back her blond locks so as not to interfere with the high neck and went for a one-two make-up punch of a dark lip and a strong eye brow. There’s nothing about this we don’t like.
See what color can do? What do you think, girls? Does Abbey pull of this high fashion look?
We loves us some Abbey Crouch (née Clancy) at Kickette HQ. She’s a bit of role model, you see. A woman who can have a night on the tiles that looks like this in photographs and still show her face on National television is one we strive to be.
The new Mrs. Peter Crouch (Abbey will be changing her surname) did her weekly spot on ITV’s This Morning yesterday and did so in grand fashion. We’re loving her charming and sophisticated shift dress*, but the real lust item here are the SHOOZ.
Abbey’s python print Lanvin wedges are pretty major. Styling them with this dress is a bit odd, but she pulls it off. We’re glad Abbey chose to remove the ankle ribbons because they would have clashed horridly with the belt.
Do you like Abbey’s styling here? Or do you think shoes like that deserve a blank canvass in the form of an LBD or other single-colored dress? We’d love to see them with something like this Rebecca Taylor denim dress. Talk to us, girls.
*We searched high and low for this dress, but no luck. If you know who designed it, do share!
A fab Kickette soldier girl has informed us that Abbey’s dress is from Mango and it’s on sale! It’s thrifty and we like it.
The new Mrs. Crouch made her first post-nuptial appearance on This Morning today. Normally, a TV segment involving men in their underwear going in a dunk tank should would render us unable to pay attention to anything else. Unless there is a pair of leopard print corduroy jeans present.
We lurve Abbey’s Étoile Isabel Marant jeans so much that we are contemplating a raid on every toy store in North America to gather up all cuddly leopards in order to dismantle them and create our own garments. Or we could just stop eating sweets for a month a buy a pair of these. Sensibility wins again!
Leopard print jeans have emerged as a quite a nice trend for late Summer/early Fall. WAGs are certainly representing – we spotted Danielle Lineker is this great cropped pair from Current/Elliott recently. We think they’re a really fun way to spice up your jeans game and pair best with just a simple white t-shirt, which everyone has in their closet. Just don’t wear the one with the sweat stains.
What are your feelings on leopard jeans, Kickettes?
Apparently, childbirth has no real effect on Abbey Clancy’s body. Perhaps she should rent out her womb to those in need.
Peter Crouch’s fiancée made an impressive return to the red carpet last night, just 7 weeks after giving birth to little Sophia. She stunned at the relaunch of Esquire magazine in an Alexander McQueen minidress that is the perfect amount of simple and sexy.
Welcome back, hot stuff.
Sidenote: We advise all NYC-area Kickettes to hot foot it down to The Metropolitan Museum of Art to see Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, an exhibit of the late designer’s work. A fitting tribute to a legend.
“I’m still a size 8, just with a bump, so I’m going for stretch jersey styles that I can still look on-trend in.”
Of course she’s still a size 8 (US size 4). She’s Abbey Clancy.
Abbey gave the quote above to Now Magazine. She also sang the praises of H&M, where she bought the adorable striped maxi dress she’s got on above as well as her nail polish. The polish is called Miss Stone Heart and we want it now. Abbey obviously keeps her fashion knowledge on the up and up, as gray polish is (as she would say) bang on for Spring. We love that Abbey is embracing her baby bump and hope that another certain newly-pregnant WAG does the same instead of covering up in shapeless ponchos like the last pregnancy.
Abbey presents a regular fashion segment on UK morning show This Morning where she has been sporting a succession of cute form-fitting dresses to show off her bump. If Peter’s recent shopping is anything to go by, then expect another stylish lady in the Crouch household soon! Abbey is due in March.
