Irina Shayk: Necessary Restyle
Irina Shayk attended the opening of Tao Beach at The Venetian in Las Vegas last Saturday. Sidenote: Given the rainy cold weather we’ve been dealing with lately, we long to live in a world where the opening of a pool is cause for celebration. Sigh. We digress… because there’s a tragedy occurring here and we must virtually fix it.
Isn’t it a little weird that Cristiano’s lady, who has been celebrated the world over for her phenomenal body, isn’t wearing a bathing suit here? No, her tacky visible bra doesn’t count. Instead, she chose a mixed-print romper with a misplaced belt. Color us confused. Believe it or not, we’re not opposed to rompers (a/k/a playsuits). Unlike jumpsuits, rompers have a bit more structure on the bottom half and don’t add the illusion of extra poundage.
Shayk’s usual route is to dress as sexy as humanly possible, but that wasn’t the case here.
We think this lovely little strapless number from Sass & Bide is a vast improvement. It still has a fun print, but is far more occasion/weather/body appropriate.
We are also not impressed with the clunky Louboutins Irina chose above. A pool party calls for a sexy, strappy pair of sandals. These tribal-inspired wedges from Yves Saint Laurent are the perfect compliment. Throw in a set of colorful bracelets from Isabel Marant and she’s got herself and outfit.
What say you, Kickettes? Do you like Shayk’s original outfit or is our restyle a better option?
How do you feel about rompers/playsuits?
