Have you ever found yourself at Barney’s, Harrod’s, etc. cradling a Victoria Beckham dress in your arms that you just had to have, only to hastily hatch a plan to split the hefty price tag between your already pinched credit cards á la Confessions of a Shopaholic and and your vital organ-selling profits?
Ladies, it’s time to snap out of your fashion trances and breathe a sigh of relief about your next month’s meal plan, because Victoria Beckham is about to ease your pain.
Mrs Beckham announced today that she is creating a new lower-priced line of dresses called Victoria by Victoria Beckham that will debut during fashion week this fall.
Huzzah! Glee! Fist pump!
We had expressed a desire for Victoria to make a diffusion line of handbags much like the wildly-successful Marc by Marc Jacobs collection, but a cheapie dress line has certainly exceeded our expectations so early on in her career. Speaking with fashion industry bible, Women’s Wear Daily, VB said:
“These are the kind of dresses I’ve been searching for. The perfect little summer dress, something that was fun, something that was girly, something that was easy to wear, something that would take you from day through the night.”
Borrowing inspiration from cartoon and comic book character Emily the Strange, we, of course, think these dresses are adorable and are obsessed with Beckham’s distinct ’60s motif. Plus, we love how all of these skirt swingers feature much looser silhouettes than we’re used to from Victoria, making this line a helluva lot more wearable for a variety of body types.
While far more affordable than her original label’s dresses, these cropped cuties will still require a bit of saving. Prices will range from $550-$900 (£345-£562) – or about a month’s worth of Dom Perignon that we’ll sadly be sacrificing so we can snap up on soon as this stuff hits stores.
Are you as thrilled with this news as we are, Kickettes?
